PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan officially unveiled the PlayStation 5 logo at CES 2020. This statement took the excitement of the game world a step further. Now a trademark application from Sony has emerged. The official application for the PS5 to Europe was eventually made. This reference may signal that the console will be released soon. Expectations about the PS5's release date have soared.

Sony applied for a trademark to the Swiss Federal Intellectual Property Institute for the PS5. According to the document leaked by LetsGoDigital, the application was made on January 27. The application was filed under 3 different sections. These sections can be listed as interactive computer software, computer and video player, Interactive Entertainment.

Speculation has long been circulating about the PS5's release date. There is no explanation made by Sony on the issue. We can only say that the company is focused on this promotion.

This document reinforced the possibility that Sony will introduce the console at a special event next month. The company has neither acknowledged nor denied the allegations about it.

In October of last year, Sony gained attention with its trademark applications in Japan. The names PS6, PS7, PS8, PS9 and PS10 were mentioned in this application. Of course, Sony secured the PS5 in 2006.
